Tammy D'ree Koolbeck

Tammy D'ree Koolbeck, M.Ed., LPC-S

has been in the counseling profession for over 15 years and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She attained her LPC license after receiving state board certification from the state of Texas. There are rigorous standards that an LPC must uphold, assuring clients that they will receive the best counseling possible.

Tammy is now recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She is also certified by the American Psychotherapy Association as a Board Certified Professional Counselor (BCPC). 

Her other accomplished credentials include Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (CART) which is special training for people experiencing problems with anger issues.

She is a Trauma, Loss and Crisis (TLC) Specialist, a certification that makes her highly qualified in dealing with situations involving a significant loss in one's life or other traumatic events.

Her certification as a Certified Relationship Specialist (CRS) focuses on premarital counseling, marriage and family counseling, and any relationship which is causing struggles in one's life

Her credential Personality Disorder Treatment Specialist (PDTS) signifies her intense study for helping clients with personality disorders with strategies and ideas to help them understand and cope with their affliction.

Tammy is a graduate of the Authentic Happiness Coaching Program which focuses not only on dealing with life's struggles, but also experiencing a more satisfying life and enjoying more rewarding relationships. She also participated in a coaching program with The Coaching Institute.

Tammy is recognized with Fellow status by the American Psychotherapy Association (FAPA).

Tammy is also an LPC Board Approved Supervisor (LPC-S). She is available to supervise LPC interns who are in training to become Licensed Professional Counselors in Texas.

Tammy added the title of Certified Advance Clinical Hypnotherapist (C.A.C.H.) in 2006. Hypnotherapy has been demonstrated to be effective for habit control, weight loss, pain management, treating health concerns, quitting smoking, losing weight, and to help a person unlock the potential of their mind in a number of problem solving areas. Hypnotherapy is endorsed by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Psychological Association (APA) for treatments of some patients.

Tammy's latest studies have resulted in another area of specialization. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a comprehensive integrative psychotherapy approach designed to maximize treatment effects. EMDR psychotherapy attends to the past experiences that have set the groundwork for pathology, the current situations that trigger dysfunctional emotions, beliefs and sensations, and the positive experience needed to enhance future adaptive behaviors and mental health.

Tammy earned her Master's Degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 1997.
